Ripper

long-time fans of skateboarding know what this is. It is actually a composite of two of Vernon Courtland-Johnson's designs (Tony Hawk's "Screaming Chicken Skull" and the "Ripper". VCJ was the guy that did all the great art at Powell Peralta back in the day. I write for PlanetTonyHawk.com and when we used to go to the E3 I would design a tee shirt. The PTH logo above the skull actuall appears on the front of the shirt, but I put it on this just so you could see it. This is an homage to Vernon, the classic design at Powell Peralta and my hero Tony Hawk. He really liked the design. But reproducing VCJ's art line-for-line in Adobe Illustrator almost gave me carpal tunnel. The good news is that I never have to redraw a Hawk skull if ever I need it.
